Colt IAR 5.56mm Upper Receiver Assembly | 16" Barrel

Very satisfied with product when arrived even though there was no bayonet lug. Upper looked good to include the finish. I was glad to see a Matech sight and not a Magpul. AU provided great communication when asked about delay with product being shipped and explained the circumstances with the BCG.

Notwithstanding some of the poor reviews from disillusioned ARFCOMers who are never satisfied because of their misguided expectation that they are buying Tiffany’s diamonds, this is a spectacular product at a fantastic deal even if it’s not as much fun playing Rambo without the bayonet lug, even if the bolt carrier group was belatedly packed but nonetheless delivered, and even if the charging handle was assumed to be the RADIAN one but it’s just a regular old charging handle. And even if all the little “C” markings are not where they were expected to be and even if there’s a little handling mark here and there. The ARFCOMers are never satisfied but I bet you will be just like I am

The fit and finish is perfect, CAGE marked CH, BCG has normal C and MPC bolt, and everything looks solid. Excited to shoot this, and thanks to AU for making it happen.

Ok so let’s be fair..solid price and stupid rare item. Sure I can bi%ch hard, but where else would I have found it anyway? Nowhere. Ordered the 11.5 way back and it wasn’t AS SHOWN either so I expected this to be aswell. The bayonet lug being missing when it was originally shown does suck..and sucks bad. They have now long after updated the pic which is sketch since it’s out of stock anyway why else change the pic? We all saw and ordered it w one. Shown as have a KAC rear sight which is cool but the correct would be a matech so I ordered one elsewhere and then it shows w no KAC but w a matech? Thanks now I have two..last 11.5 showed matech but came w a magpul. I’ve got a hundred dollar rear site I don’t need now. The 11.5 had a colt radian charging handle whereas this one has an old school basic one which does suck. Upside is at least I didn’t get fully shafted since in their rush they added an extra full bolt carrier group and basic charging handle in the box so to me that somewhat made up for the other massive errors. I know they didn’t mean to but at least it went in my favor this time. It doesn’t make up for a bayonet lug which really stings on this one. Def not happy but I’ve purchased a ridiculous amount it items from AU and outside of these IAR uppers I’ve never had ANY issue of ANY kind. Hell I’ve placed an order even since getting this current one in so I’ll live. Being how rare it is and the price knowing what I know now I still would have ordered it but really hate it wasn’t what it was supposed to be. I just don’t want any more issues in their orders because this is prob my fav site and I don’t want to not like them and be forced to not buy anymore out of principle. All in all I’m still happy to have it just please guys be accurate next time lots of us loyal folks buy from y’all and I can’t lose this place. Let’s hope it’s a past issue going forward. I’ll cut some slack on these due to the nature of what they are. I mean it’s this or 3-4k on gunbroker.

From the shipping, to the customer services lack of accountability and/or no sympathy for the situation, to the sad let down expectations of not receiving the colt radian charging handle, and no barrel lug, for my first big gun purchase cant say im that impressed

Just like the rest of the buyers (customers) here, I am very disappointed that it did not come with a bayonet lug like it should have. So, the upper is no longer authentic, I believe that was the reason why everyone here bought this upper, for its authenticity, and all AU did was changing the picture to hide their mistake. At the least, AU should contact Colt on our behalf and have colt to send us the bayonet lug, so we would have the option to put it on. We should get what we paid for.

No manual, no heavy buffer,and no bayonet lug on 16 inch barrel as pictured

Like the 11.5 upper, this one also had a few nicks on the heat rail showing bare aluminum. Nothing a few drops of birchwood casey aluminum black can't fix. I don't see a bayonet lug like everyone else is mentioning but I'm not too bummed about it since I didn't even notice it was on the image. What I am bummed is that the 16 inch variant comes with a mil spec charging handle! Why does the 11.5 inch variant come with a colt branded radian raptor but this comes with a mil spec?!

Its not bad, but BCG was not C stamped, as it should have been. I know Colt goes back and forth on stamping, but this type of item should be extra correct. I have one of the original IAR from the trials, this one looks decent, few differences like the bayonet lug, overall good deal, but wish the BCG had the C stamp, looks almost like a spare BCG was thrown in as AU said Colt shipped these without BCG and they were waiting for them :/
